"My husband and I had no idea if buying in SF was a possibility for us. When I mentioned to my friend that we were thinking about looking she immediately said, "You have to use my agent, she's the best." Now, 5 months, 3 offers, and one successfully bought home later we can confidently say Amanda IS the best and made all the difference for us. She was a confident calm through the storm of Bay Area real estate (SF for us). I never felt that she was angling for a sale or had anything other than our best interests in mind. She was extremely accommodating and respectful of time, somehow always available even when I know she was busy. At home tours she was inspecting things harder than we were and knew a million things to look out for that we never would have thought of. She is Proactive with a capital 'P'. Calling agents, getting in touch with home inspectors, reaching out to her (plentiful) network of specialists and contractors who always got back to her. In a hot market (which we definitely are in now) time is of the essence and she prepared us with everything we needed to be ready to put an offer in fast. She is realistic and helped us know what to expect when list prices are frustratingly so much lower than what a home will actually go for (which can be heartbreaking!). At the same time, she was willing to fight for us and helped us craft the strongest offer possible, even when it didn't have the best chances. Our offers were done so well that even if we weren't able to be the highest, selling agents always got back to us and kept us in the running for as long as we could be (and eventually we got one!). After we got a home Amanda didn't disappear, she has been instrumental in guiding us through new home ownership and finding the right people to help us with the work we wanted to do. The house was very rundown and required much work to get ready to sell. I had no idea what was the best way to ready it for market.It would have been easy to go in the wrong direction and end up no closer to a sale. Thankfully our neighbor and friend Amanda Marten is in the real estate business.After a brief conversation I knew she was a very competent and skilled professional.I asked her to take over and just tell me what I needed to do.She thanked me and advised me that I should let her handle the get ready and sale from here on. I was amazed as within three days workers were on the job. One after another smooth as could be within five weeks the home was on the market.A fair price was agreed upon and I was hopeful that a buyer was just waiting around the corner.
